*sigh* I love this question.

For me, the Christmas tradition is deorating the living room, replacing all cream candles with red, cinnamon-smelling ones, putting away all silver items and replacing them with shiny, gold merchandise, putting up our tree, popping in the Mowtown Christmas album, watching Christmas movies such as "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", "National Lampoons Christmas Vacation", "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown", and the non-stop marathon on Christmas Day of "A Christmas Story", sitting on the couch cuddled with my mom and family, sippin some sweet egg nog, and getting that warm fuzzy feeling inside!! I don't even need any presents, that's all I need to have the perfect Christmas.

Edit: Oh sorry, how could I forget the most important thing! Praying and acknowledging Jesus Christ and his birthday!! After all, it IS all about Him!

I have my own special Christmas tradition. For Christmas Eve, me and my boyfriend go by my mom and sister's house, open a gift each and have a small dinner. Then Christmas morning, I wake up and make a delicious Christmas breakfast (usually french toast or eggs with onions, green/red peppers and tomatoes, crisp bacon and hash browns). Yummy! Then we open the gifts from each other. Later we go to his parent's house for a small dinner and to exchange gifts, then it's off to my aunt's house to have another Christmas dinner with my family. We exchange gifts and finish opening the gifts from my mom and sis. It's great! Sometimes we even go to a bar after that!

we are starting a new tradition this year, we are going to buy each child 5 presents, and 5 everyone gifts, so that n christmas day my kids open 1 present and an everyone present (usually a game) and then we let them enjoy that toy and family game, then the next day, they get to pick another present and everyone gift, all the way up until new years day, where the last present is opened and then the tree comes down.
I decided to do things this way to cut down on the madness that is christmas with 4 kids, and because by letting the kids open every present, i will have to listen to whining as the kids want me to open those difficult to open packages, and then play with 1 toy for 5 minutes because they have to open the next one and play with it, then toys get mixed up, and its just a mess

Spending time with family, and putting up the Christmas tree. Waking up on Christmas morning and watching the parade, and drink hot chocolate, and then opening presents, playing games..and then after we all join in and make breakfast, and dinner together. It's my favorite day because everyone is happy, and we're all together, and just doing things together. =]

*happy holidays!*

Decorating our christmas tree together. It's fun to see who chooses which ornaments and where they put them on the tree. We wind up talking about when we got certain ornaments and things like that. It's just a wonderful time that brings us all together for fun and laughs!
