I am almost a week late for my period and today I thought i had my period during class today so I checked and it was the size of my panty liner and its brownish red. I wiped to see if it was discharge or if its really blood and the tissue had red and brown in it. I put on another panty liner and checked it 20 minutes later to see that it was almost filled up and it was. I put on a third one and there's barely anything on it anymore. I wiped to see if there was still some left and there was brown and pink on the tissue. I think it stopped but I've been having cramps all day. I dont even feel like im bloated either... Could this be implantation bleeding?

I'm not sure if im pregnant or not, and i dont want to be since i'm only 16.

It's important to remember that you will usually experience implantation a week or more before you would expect your period, depending on when you ovulate. Also, if you don't happen to see any spotting around this time you shouldn't assume that you aren't pregnant. While a big deal is made about implantation bleeding in a lot of books and all over the Internet, there are actually very few women that actually report experiencing the phenomenon. This could be because most of us assume that we are just spotting before our period starts or it could just be so little blood that it goes unnoticed.

Implantation bleeding is something that many women assume that they will experience, but generally doctors believe that it is the exception not the rule. Knowing this, you probably shouldn't watch for implantation bleeding. Because you know that it does happen every so often you also do not need to be alarmed if you do experience it!

Implantation bleeding or menstrual period?
Implantation bleeding normally occurs a week to a few days before your period would normally start. Spotting that occurs around a week after ovulation is likely implantation bleeding; whereas, spotting that occurs very close to the time that your period would normally start may not be. A normal menstrual cycle generally starts off light and then gets heavier. Spotting can sometimes be the sign of an early period. If this is the case, the spotting will pick up to heavier bleeding. If you have spotting right around the time your period would normally start, it can be more confusing. You will need to take the wait and see approach or take a pregnancy test to determine pregnancy.

Not to be rude, but if you don't want to be pregnant, then you shouldn't be having sex. But if you're going to, you need to be using birth control. At your age, it wouldn't hurt to use a combo, such as pills and condoms.

It sounds like your period. Don't worry too much but don't be promiscuous and use condoms.
