This is a debate I am having, and couldnt find an answer in the NHL rules
In a shoot out, if a goalie goes to poke check the puck, touches it but the player is still able to keep posession and scores, is it a goal?
Either: No, because the goalie touched it
Or: Yes, becase the player kept posession

Once the goaltender has made contact with the puck, inadvertant or not, the shooter can no longer touch the puck. If the puck manges to get into the net...it's a goal.

I think it is actually in between.
2 Scenarios I see:
#1 The goalie touches it the player then makes a controlling move/deke/drag and then puts it in . . . no goal.
#2 The poke check comes essentially in the process of a shot and a player follows through all in one motion (pretty much looks like all one movement) . . . called goal on the ice, i think in the review too.
I think if you maintain motion you may get away with it . . .
I have seen one that I think was allowed where the puck, stick and, goalie all contacted and the player held pressure on the puck with his stick and the puck squirted 5-hole and they counted it.
I think it may be one of those situations like the backing into the goalie that will have to be addressed upon issue or clarified.

I'm saying no it wouldn't be a goal because the goalie touched it.
Although the player kept it, the goalie still was able to touch it and could have "potentially" knocked it away.
So NO.. I don't think it should be a goal. :)
Edit: Ok.. actually now that I read Snickers answer.. I'm starting to lean towards what he said.. LOL. I can't make up my mind.

I believe it's a goal because the player didn't
shoot & he kept possession of the puck. A
player only gets one chance at shooting-----
no rebound shots are allowed. Also, the "play"
is ruled dead if the puck rolls harmlessly away
from the shooter, even if he never shoots it.

No rebounds are allowed, but the referee could rule that the touching of the puck didn't change its momentum and therefore was merely a follow through of the same shot. it'sa tricky situation, and someday it will cause a real controversy.

no, the goalie touched it, if he pokes it but somehow it manages to slide in the net without the shooter touching it again, its a goal but thats it

If the player maintains possession I believe he can still shoot, so in this case it should count. Now if he lost possession, even for a split second, then no.
