I am only 20 weeks pregnant and while I couldn't be happier about having a baby I am really struggling with all the weight gain. Before pregnancy I was 115 and 5'3 now I just feel so heavy and my face is so fat looking. Anyone else ever feel this way so early? How will I make it another 4.5 months?

This is completely normal. I hate to say it though, it's only going to get worse. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that you were so small in the beginning that much weight at all is seeming like a lot! Luckily, a lot of it is just water weight, blood weight (your body makes more blood while your pg), and of course the weight of the placenta and you lil one. If you are anything like I was with my first one, you may also be overindulging "for the baby." I can tell you now, that's a huge mistake. Stop now if you can, baby really only needs you to eat about an extra 500 calories a day. Do not fret though. I found that the bulk of the weight just fell off after I had my baby and with a little work, you'll lose the rest, no problemo! Hope this helps!

I know how you feel, i was the same at 20 weeks because my boy is big like his dad and i have also gained a fair bit of weight and i too look fat in the face : (

I am 28 weeks now and i am so big, i cant wait till it is over. I am struggling now so i dont know if i will be able to make it to 40 weeks!! Trust me after 20 weeks it only gets worse, they start getting big quickly after the 20 week mark. I guess we will just have to grin and bare it, i want my boy to be healthy but i also am so ready for him to be out!!People always mention all the good things about pregnancy but forget to mention all the bad! Congrats on your baby, your half way there!

Just remember your are healthy and your baby is doing well. I swear to you, with your determination and strength after you have that baby the weight will come off before you know it. Just focus on the health of you and your baby right now. Do not worry about how you look, YOUR pregnant. Just listen to the doctor and you will do great. 4.5 months really isnt a long time, it will go by quickly. GOod luck hun!!

i was about 108 before pregnancy and i grew to about 150!!! my face was fat too! i was so worried it wouldnt go away. but most of the weight dropped after pregnancy, just remember that during pregnancy you have a lot of water gain & you can become swollen.

months after pregnancy (with NO exercise lol) i went down to 117, just working to get the few extra pounds off & ill be back to normal. feeling fat is normal, but remember that its for your baby =) besides you probably look cute pregnant (thats what a lot of people told me)

I haven't, but I think it's so cool that you're having a baby! Think of it as you're bringing another LIFE into this world! Maybe check into those pregnant exercise classes or whatever they are. It might help you feel better now and could help getting into shape after the pregnancy be a lot easier.

God Bless!

I'm 19 weeks and feel my tummy is huge although I have lost 6 pounds this pregnancy. With my first, I didn't look pregnant for a long time. Even now, people can't tell I'm pregnant unless they know me really well. My face doesn't look fat at all. Be careful not to overeat. Good luck!

One major reason of your weight gain is your body water. Avoid salty food, do some exercise or do some walking, in other words " be active" so your body will not hold or retain water.
Retaining body water is normal for pregnant women, however you can lessen or avoid this by taking out sodium or salty food and exercise (walking is the best exercise for expectant mother)

Me too. I'm almost 16 weeks and feel like a big fat cow. I have gained 8 pounds and it seems to have all gone to my belly. Someone told me that my butt was jiggling the other day. Isn't that nice.
