When I was 16 (1967) I calculated that I would be 49 in y2k. I then though - 'well i won't be alive so what the heck - I'll never be that old.'

The 50's were a lot of fun.Life was a bit easier to take and the streets a lot less dangerous. The 80's were good also. Things have gotten a bit more dangerous. You couldn't be quiet as open as you were in the 50's but the 80's were good. Remember, thoughts are gloomy and people are pessimistic. Time is only what you make of it. The year 2050 is going to be hard on a lot of people. Much, much harder then it is today. Today will be a cakewalk in comparison.America has got to wake up or a large percentage of it will become a third world country.

I was a teenager during the 1950's, so there you go......... I really did not know what to think. I was waiting for my computer to completely break down, Well, I probably won't be around 50 years from now, but if I am, I will not be afraid like I was in the year 2000. Grams

I grew up in the Fifties.Ever see Leave It To Beaver? That's exactly how it was.All of us kids looked forward to the year 2000,mostly in anticipation of technical advances. That's why in 1961 when The Jetsons premiered on television it was so popular. We thought that is what 2000 would be like. The Eighties was a time when Ronald Reagan did his best to re-create the 1950s in America. He did well enough. Those were better times than now.1980s music was awesome.
