Yes, but only with the hand, only for a short period of time, and only on the butt. Anywhere else or using any kind of object is wrong and traumatizing. Children are too young to know what's best for them, so sometimes the only way to get their attention is a little spanking now and then.

Yep, a guy sure believes in spanking when the hairbrush or belt is whacking the teen bare butt!!

yep. I don't think people should have an opinion on this until they've been around children. I don't believe in Beating the kid, but it good smack on the butt gets the point across. But the main thing, is CONSISTENCY. If you spank them for something, then let them get away with it the next time, then you're not doing any good.

I do not believe in spanking, and it's probably because I was physically abused as a child. My Mother and Step-Father use to hit me everyday, mostly with a leather belt, tree branches, broom stick, hell....practically anything they could find. I could never feel the need to hit any child due to the abuse that I have experienced.

Yes, but only with adults. I think that spanking is a terrible traumatic experience for a child, and is ineffective in changing its behavior. A much more successful result is achieved by isolating the youngster [go to your room] and/or withdrawing one of the child's main fun things for a specific time depending on the severity of the infraction.
Consciously, none of us likes to be punished, but the subconscious is something else entirely. And not very far from the surface is a demand for punishment when it's deserved. NEVER EVER punish kids for something they didn't do. Otherwise, one day you'll be visiting them in prison.
Children may exercise their lungs screaming blue murder at the time they're sent to their room, but in their hearts, they 'll love and respect you forever.
The above summarizes one of my strongest beliefs.

Uh what kind of spanking? Either one is acceptable just as long as you not doing anything harmful. Since when was a belt a weapon of mass desruction?????

I believe a good swat on the butt is the only answer sometimes.
It's kind of like a kid 'reset' button.
I don't mean anything else...no beatings.. no slapping, no abuse.. just a good old fashioned swat on the butt. Spare the rod and spoil the child.

definetly. worked for me. I see little devils that havent been spanked. Like my nephew, he's the world's most spoiled brat.
