what is anti grind

In older cars if you turned the key on and the engine was already running it would make a grinding sound from the starter. Anti-grind prevents this from happening in the event the ignition gets turned on when the car is already running.

That is a circuit that prevents the starter from being engaged when the engine is already running. that stops the bendix gear from grinding on the the flywheel. Should this happen it will ruin either the gear or the teeth on the flywheel or most likely both. On my remote starter, if I hit the button while the engine is running it will turn off the engine.
