Americans have been in the Phils even before WW II, when MacArthur became famous there. They have an extreme love of America and all things American. They know all the American pop songs, old and new, and all the American movie stars.

They have a political system that is similar to ours, but is susceptible to attempted coup every now and then.

The most advertised products there are skin whiteners and shampoo that leaves hair shiny.

Many Filipinos learn English from early school.

The culture of democracy. Nothing else.

And even our democracies are of different style, ours being at its infancy stage when compared with American democracy.
