The pursuit of Enlightenment is the source of humanity's imagined suffering. That is the same pursuit as 'happiness'. The idea of enlightenment is a symbol for permanent pleasure with no pain as humanity understands it. That is impossible. Yet, church after church, ashram after ashram and temple after temple are built year after year to continue this sham. There is no such thing as the 'enlightenment' you appear to be proposing.
There are only those who live through an imagined 'self' and those who do not. How can humanity grasp this idea when it is so in love with self esteem and individual rights?

Possible, most definitely.
Probable? That's quite another story.
See, with so many different people with so many different points of view and so many differing ideals, can ALL of humanity truly find and appreciate the truths and secrets of life? Many wish it were so but chances are there will always be some that reject enlightenment anyway for whatever reason.

I think so. I mean there are many monks and nuns out there. So yeah enlightenment is possible for humanity if they give up alot of human sacrifices to find out possible ways to avoid human death, aging, and sickness. Oh yeah this project I did in Geography class sure helped me answer this question :]

Not unless we once again study the trivium and the quadrivium. That was the beginning of the Enlightenment and America's Founders were the last generation of the Enlightenment--guess what they studied in school and university and for the rest of their lives?

There's no definitely correct point of view, so until we all become blank slates with no opinions, no views and no differences this cannot be achieved.
If that is ever likely to happen then we might as well nuke ourselves now.
Oh, also, if you consider the ability to listen and empathise with the thoughts and feelings of others to be "enlightenment", you're not. I'm afraid you're just an incredibly presumptuous and snobby person.
Kill all hippies!

First impression is if you find enlightenment then you are aiding humanity to achieve enlightenment. Therefore first find enlightenment, then you can tell us all how to find it then the answer to the question can become feasible.

I guess that would depend on your definition of 'enlightenment'. This is, of course, entirely subjective.
But in the broadest of terms, humanity probably needs less enlightenment than they do liberation from the global coprorate structures.

Kind of depends on your definition of enlightenment. If you mean love and peace on earth and an ability for everyone to live harmoniously together, then yes.
