You will be fine. Why are you so scared. Have you been listening to other girls horror stories. Like I said you will be fine. It is very natural. I take it that you have not started your period yet. Talk to your mom. Tell you how you feel and what is going though your mind. You can also check out this website. It should help make you feel better Good Luck.

It's SOOO completely natural to be freaked out before it happens the first time.... we all were, no matter how well our moms prepared us. Buy (or get your mom to buy) some basic supplies: a couple different kinds of pads, a couple of brands of tampons. Then you can experiment a little and find out which ones you like or don't like, and what will work for you. It's kind of a personal thing that way -- no two women will ever agree on what is the best protection.
If you turn out to be crampy, don't worry. A heating pad or hot water bottle, or even a Therma-care heat wrap (!) will help with that, and you can talk to your mom ahead of time about having some Tylenol or Advil. If you are lucky enough to be cramp-free, then that will be cool for you!
After you get your period for awhile, you'll be able to track it better and know when to expect it so you'll be prepared each month. Try not to stress about it (even though you will a little anyhow). Yeah, it seems a little gross and maybe scary, but it gets really easy to take care of.

It was pretty scary for me too. Your feelings are completely normal. But it's not that big a deal once you've had a few. It's an annoyance, but just make sure you are always ready. Keep pads/tampons in your purse all the time.
It's a completely natural thing all women go through. You will be fine!!

U will be fine Katie...atleast u know about it & u r ready to face it.
Being nervous is ok...but just be prepared for it, at the same time.
My experience was not too bad. I lived away from my mom in a residential school. But before i left..my mom explained everything to me. & i knew what to expect.
i knew exactlly how to deal with it myself..when i had it for the first time.
