I guess because of the Barbie doll joke.

It is not necessarily a belief, per se, rather a perk upon marriage...you know the whole two becoming one...together they have chose to operate, function as one. So sometimes, that right, as you have chosen to describe it, dictates that the wife may use her husbands money...It truly is something they both should agree to....not discussing these issues can truly cause some serious damage in the relationship.

Because in a solid partnership, we do. Just as my husband has a right to ALL my money! Our money is put together and we contribute to everything together. There is no room for selfishness or pettiness in a good marriage. That's not love---it's greed.

You mean money prior to marriage? We pooled all our money together. He had his own savings account and he wanted to buy a motorcycle, which was find since he'd been saving for years even before he met me.
Now that we are married we each spend a little money here and there but nothing too crazy.

Just because you ended up with a gold digger, don't lump all women into that same category.
A lot of men think that THEY should make all the financial decisions, too. Women haven't cornered the market on being controlling and greedy, you know.

I never felt that way.... but i do feel the husband ought to be the main provider.
I always worked when i was married, and shared expenses, groceries, bills, daycare and bought my own vehicles...
I'm 50 now, and someday i hope to meet some rich old buzzard so maybe i can have some of that money stuff?
take care!!!

I have the rights to all of "his" money just as he has all of the rights to "my" money. Both of our paychecks get deposited into a joint banking account and the money is shared equally by the household.

well i am not married.. not any more...was for 19yrs.. and when me and my bf moved in together and had been for several months.. we were planning to move to another state so he said he would put his check into my checking account.. i told him ok.. but i would put him on the account as well so he could access funds..it is not mine.. not his.. but ours.. as well as my credit cards.. we both share them... yeah i know if could back fire on me.. but to me it is like a marriage.. well kinda.. and there must be some trust...although depending on how much i have been drinking.. my trust will sway a bit.. thing is we all don't believe that way

When you get married .. " I " becomes " We". In other words there is no such thing as husbands money or wifes money, its called " Our money".
