I wouldn't be mad about the saving account.
I would be mad if he was being deceptive about it.

I dont think it's that bad for your spouse to have a saving's account that is seperate. My parents have been happily married for over 25 years and they both have seperate savings accoung--emergencies always come up one way or another...
I guess the real question is: Is your spouse hiding that money and using it unappropriately? Because if they were, then that would be something to be worried about, but there's nothing wrong to just always being prepared.

I would ask why, but don't assume that she/he is up to no good. Sometimes spouses just like to feel that they can keep a bit of their individuality. I was out of work for a while and it was a bad feeling that I couldn't even buy my wife a present without her seeing what I paid for it on the charge card statement. Now I keep a checking account of my own and added her name as the beneficiary should I croak.
On the other hand...maybe she's planning to leave you.

Nothing. I have a separate account myself. It's not a big deal.

I don't know why that's a big deal. Honestly, I would be happy to learn that was all my spouse was keeping from me.

I would take it all and spend it all! MUAHAHAAH
Acutally depending on the amount I'd put it into inventments, towards vacation, or perhaps let him buy another motorcycle.

I would ask why, and then promptly open my OWN savings account...what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

It would give me a sinking feeling because we don't keep things from each other.

I'd be completely p***ed. And, if he didn't have a VERY good reason (I can't even imagine what a good reason could be) we'd be divorced very quickly.
There is no reason to be hiding money.
