There are 3 types of memory, working, short-term, and long-term. Working memory is very small and is designed simply as a buffer for what information goes into your short-term memory. Your short-term memory is quite large and can hold large amounts of information until it is stored in your long term memory. Theoritcally your long-term memory has no limitations.
