Because, not everyone wants children. My husband and I have chosen to not have children, and we are very happy. We don't feel like we are missing out on anything. Is it really that confusing?

Because children are a big responsibility, and some people don't want that responsibility.
Because some people don't like children.
Because some people know they wouldn't be good parents and don't have that "maternal" instinct.
Because some people don't see the point of bringing another life into this already effed up world, don't see the point in brining another life into the world when the world is already WAY overpopulated, or don't see the point of bringing another life into the world when there are already SOOO many children who are in need of good homes, so would rather adopt (which I think is a totally amazing and unselfish of a person to do).
Because some people would rather have a career.
Because some people would rather use their money to travel and enjoy their freedom.
Because some people would rather use their life to focus on making the world better or doing other important things (Like Oprah. Look at all she's done... but she's never had any desire for her own children. That isn't saying that parents can't make the world better tho).
Because some people are afraid of labor and are afraid of pregnancy.

It's all personal preference...
if people don't want children, that is their choice. You aren't obligated to have a kid just because you can.

Because it is a form of responsibility and they can no longer do whatever they want, when they want to. Some also do not want to bring children into the world when there are so many children who need good homes - so they would rather adopt.
Some people just do not get along / do not like children.
It's all a personal preference.

I think because they are not ready and I respect there decisions. Because they are the ones that conceive by looking at each other(Ha) and there are some of us that kick and scream to have them. Some healthy and fertile coples get depressed and anxious when they get pregnant like the infertile couples.

Maybe they had a crappy childhood and don't want to have kids and end up being crappy parents like their's were. My brother in law is great with kids but doesn't want his own because his mom was married several times and always to drunks. He and my sister have been married for 19 years and are completely happy without kids.
