With Hellboy and the Golden Compass I'm REASONABLY happy. Susan Cooper's Dark is Rising deserves a decent adaptation as much as it did before the clowns who raped it took over.
I've been getting into Chandu the Magician radio serials on the web. In Origins of Marvel Comics Stan Lee said Dr. Strange needed a gong because Chandu had one. He's absolutely right. Chandu is all nicey-nicey with Bob and Betty and all that but the range of stories was much greater than the stories you get in the media in recent years. Sigh. Fawcett's Ibis the Invisible, another Chandu knock-off is something else I'd like to see revived. This revived Egyptian Prince was much more fantastical than Chandu, and the other similarities would be far outweighed by that.
I'd love to see a group of Neo-Pagans grab and adapt Alan Garner's Weirdstone of Brisingamen and Moon of Golmroth. Like Susan Cooper's books what makes these stories of Susan and Calvin so very cool is precisely they are not Harry Potter (which I enjoy but I'm fairly satisfied with Rowling's stories). Obviously I'd like to see someone tackling Susan Cooper on her terms, but that may not happen soon.
As stated above, Artemus Fowl, heh heh. (Edit: teenaged supercriminals, nubile fairy cops and authors named Eoin Colfer are a potent and heady mix.)
Finally among older books, I believe Joan Aiken's The Wolves of Willoughby Chase has been adapted. Her the Cuckoo Tree, about a dastardly hanoverian plot to assassinate the royal family during a coronation by mounting St. Paul's Cathedral on rollers and pushing it into the Thames could just be really awesome in the right hands.
That's my wish list.

They did the Phantom too...That action picture sucked vast time. it fairly is complicated to declare, through fact a number of of the main comics have been finished. Even those you does not suspect have been made into video clips. i might prefer to work out a ask your self woman action picture. perchance a eco-friendly Lantern, or a Justice League of united statesa..

definitly Brimstone, Dance of Death, or Book Of the Dead. if manga or anime counts then Neon Genesis Evangelion (live action version), and Highschool of the Dead(I know the title is really cliched and cheezy but its a good manga)
