I don't know what it is about his music? His voice just somehow always draws me in. His music seems almost timeless to me.

Scrappy: No large hatebase as far as I know. I just think sometimes he is not appreciated enough. I am more of a headbanger and I somehow seem to really like a lot of his music.

David: I wouldn't say a stigma, but as a guy who drives down the road jammin' Heavy Metal, it just feels kinda odd to find some of songs stuck in my head at times.

okay I'm 26 and I think James Taylor is awesome! I always liked his music when my parents would play it. And I saw this PBS (I think) special and he was amazing! He is a wonderful singer!! You are right he's timeless! And this is coming from someone who likes rap and rock and all kinds of other types of music. Don't be ashamed to like what you like! I'll sing "I've seen Fire and I've seen Rain" (is that what that song is called?) out loud no matter who's around! lol!

I don't have any problems being honest and saying that I like some of his songs. To my knowledge there's no real stigma about it. Having said that, I'm not very familiar with his work- I pretty much just know the iconic songs that everybody's heard at some point or other, like "Fire and Rain", "You've Got a Friend", etc.

PICK ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and also Livingston Taylor his brother!
love them both, Liv is funnier, but J.T. is classic.
Also I make the trip from Stockbridge to Boston....and back often in the winter. When the roads are clear but the trees are bent over with heavy snow. or I can look off into Quabin Vally and see the reservoir, I start to sing, hum, go for the C.D.
Oh my Stockbridge, well it is actually at UMASS. Amherst, Stockbridge is the name of the Agricultural School at UMass Amherst.
But no different! I take Rt. 2 west, to Rt. 202 to Amherst and watch the beauty unfold. on account of the frosting!

I respect the guy. But I don't love his voice. I do really like 'Fire & Rain' though. Sad sad song. Also like Up on the Roof.

I gotta admit though, one song just bugs me- his cover of "How Sweet it Is (to be loved by you)". Don't know why.

I like his stuff but gotta be in the right mood.

He seems to surround himself with some killer players for his live shows, which helps.
