... Having a tough time with this.

The dimensions are as follows: 20mm*20mm*45mm with a mass of 0.078kg ...

How do I calculate the density. From my work I believe my calculation failed with units of mf dimensions; Hence mm^3 to m^3.

Density is weight divided by volume. In the metric system density is often expressed as grams per cubic centimeter. So here you have a mass of 78 grams and a volume of 2.0cm times 2.0 cm times 4.5 cm or 18 cubic cc. Divide 78 by 18 to get 4.33 grams per cc.

density is mass per unit volume.

the mass is given as 0.078 kg or 78 g

the volume is 20*20*45 = 18000 mm^3

to convert mm^3 to m^3, first find the conversion from mm to m

1000mm = 1m
(1000)^3mm^3 = (1)^3 m^3

so there are 1000000000 mm^3 in one m^3

18000 mm^3*(1 m^3/1000000000 mm^3) = some small number, call it x

then density is 0.078 /x kg/m^3 if that's the units you're looking for.

d = m/v
v = 20*20*45 or 180 cm3.
mass is 78 grams.
78 / 180 is
density = .4333... grams/cm3
lets hope that the object floats in water.

1 mm = .001 m so

20 mm = .02 m
45 mm = .045 m

Density = mass / volume = ( .078 kg ) / ( .02 m ) ( .02 m ) ( .045 m )
