definitely ice. then you should soak your foot in hot water. then go back to the ice. i've broken my toe three times. different toe each time. lol. if you go to the doctor basically the only thing they can do for you is give you this shoe thing to wear, which you can buy at most drugstores. their blue with velcro and a white bottom. 20$ usually. that's unless its a bad break. then you may need surgery. hope that helps. get better!

Rule of thumb, if you can move it, it's not broken. All you can pretty much do is take anti inflammatory (Tylenol, ibuprofen...I like naproxin (aleve). Keep your foot elevated as much as you can. You can soak it in Epsom salts and water a couple times a day, and use Ice packs. Soak in a pan that your foot fits in, fill with luke warm water until the toe is completely submerged, add 2 or 3 tablespoons of the salts (it's in expensive and can be found in the pharmacy section of grocery stores) use your foot to stir until disolved. Soak for 15 to 20 minutes each time.

Also, immobilize it for a day by using paper tape (in the bandaid isle of stores), and tape it to the toe next to it. This is what a doctor would do.

Yes get that thing on ice to reduce swelling. If it doesn't improve within a couple of days, I would seek medical help. I'm not a medical doctor but you want to watch for circulation issues so keep an eye out for abnormal discoloration: Some bruising will be normal.

Sounds like you may have cracked or broken it. Take paracetamol, use ice on toe and check for bruising. If bruising is very dark purple in colour in a couple of days, go and see a doctor or go to the A+E.

RE: pass to physician for broken toe? I broke my vast toe a pair days in the past. it fairly is been fairly painful as would nicely be envisioned, yet no longer insufferable as long as I infant it. some human beings think of I would desire to pass to the physician, yet I dont think of there is any experience to pass. incredibly plenty the full suited of my toe grew to become crimson and now blackish, and the fringe of...

I think ice would be good, but also try and purchase a support for your toe (most chemists sell them). This will ensure, as your toe heals, it will heal straight. Otherwise you risk it causing more problems later on.

Unfortunately, there is not a lot more you can do to help a broken toe!

Hope that helps!

take tylonel or some pain relieving thing. Then put ice on it for 30 minutes but dont leave it on to long or else your toe will burn. If this doesnt help go to a docter

i broke my toe dancing... well auctually i was dancing and i kicked a chair. and yes, it does hurt alot!!!!
my toe swelled up to the size of a golf ball and turned purple.
the sad thing is that you cant do anything about it. take some painkillers, and tape it to the toe next to it.
if its your big toe, then you will probably need a cast because its your big toe that makes you balance. other than that, just ice it and keep it elevated.

hopefully i helped! =)

Sorry you are having a rough patch right now.

Practice r.i.c.e.
R= rest
i= ice
c= compression
e= elevation

So stay off of it, buddy tape it (tape it to another toe) ice it, put your foot up as often as you can and continue with anti inflamitories. If you think its broken you might think about seeing a dr.
