Most people who work with animals have a natural science related degree. For example: zoology, biology, entomology, ornothology, natural resources, wildlife management, herpetology, aquatic ecology, marine biology.

As far as which degree is best for you, it is really based off of what animal you would like to work with. For example if you want to work with birds you would want something along the lines of ornothology, or if you want to work with aquatics you would want something like marine bio, aquitic eco, etc.

As far as pay goes, it really depends on who you work for. You could be making just enough to pay the bills or raking in the cash. If you are working for a small non-profit facility chances are the pay will be lower than if you were working for say a zoo or govt based facility (usda, usfws, etc).

Just know this, most animal jobs are done because people love what they do and not because of the money they make.

Yes, they get paid.

They are usually called Forest Rangers.

I think they will need a Zoology degree to work.

Why, are you interested in becoming a forest ranger ?
