What makes you think we can "destroy" the planet-------- sounds pretty arrogant to me considering-------nature:
Epic Tsunamis
Super volcanoes--- like Yellowstone
A large asteroid impact------
An exploding supernova in a nearby star system that radiates the planet with gamma rays and x rays

the earth has been here for several billion years and seems to do ok by itself.....many hundreds of million years ago there were these things called trees that breathed in CO2 and gave out this waste gas called oxygen......
the earth will take care of itself.......

Between you and me, I have often wondered about that same thing. Star EG3905 really ticks me off and I think we should blow it to smithereens next weekend.
