I live in a new development on a cul de sac, and no one else lives there, and i asked my family in the morning and none of them were up.

I don't know with what little information you give. Do you live in an apartment or a neighborhood that would explain the voices? I live in the county on a dead end street with very few neighbors and scattered about. My closest neighbor is about 2 acres from me but sometimes lat at night like that when everything is quiet, I can hear them talking if they are outside.

I search for all possible natural explanations first.

Just because you live in a newly developed area doesn't mean anything. Try to find out the history of the land at the county clerks office or your local library. Something could have happened on the land itself long before it was ever developed. If you have ruled out all other possiblities, then get a voice recorder and let it run for a while and see if you pick up anything. As a paranormal investigator, that is exactly what I would do.

In keeping with the vast majority of ghost reports here on Yahoo Answers, yours happened near or during the sleeping hours. When we are in a semi-waking state, our memories our suspect and not reliable. You could have just as easily dreamed that you got your Ipod out. I'm not saying categorically that you did or did not have a paranormal experience, but I am saying that given the evidence at hand, there are far more likely natural explanations to be found.

it depends, there are times when I am sitting in my "house" not apt in a very "rural area" and I can here voices and music in the background while watching TV or something. It could be a lot of things. Rule out the neighbors, rule out any other noise source. When you hear this stuff, grab a digital recorder and try to get a recording of it. ya never know.

The veils between dimensions must have been thin.

The Jewish Kabbalah teaches the universe was created with 10 different dimesions.

modern quantum theory says the universe has either 10 or 21 different dimensions.

Actually to answer I would need more info, such as area you live in or multi family dwelling, a lot of factors need to be resolved to give a decent answer to your question.

If you live in a large neighborhood then it could have been the muffled sounds of someone yelling outside.

Assuming that it was not someone talking next door, then it might be clairaudience, the ability to hear spirit voices.
