why does my period stop every other day and when it starts up again theres a lot of blood?

Have you just started to menstruate, it might take a while to become regular (25-30 days). I would ask your female relatives (mom, sister or aunt), this will give you a better idea what normal is for you. :)
*In any event, you should tell your mom what's going on.

well have you just recently started your period within the last 2 years, if yes then your period is going to be irregular and try to find the best ways to -- how should i say -- come out and get comfertable.
