Yes, very few taking their place, very sad. Everything is so watered down we should use "Kool-aid" as an adjective.
For instance: So and so is just a kool-aid actor. In other words, just an imitation of what was. Same could go for many books and authors. Make up your own lists, unfortunately it is all too easy.
