Any piece of metal you see is probably an alloy. Pure metals are, in general, too soft or too expensive to use in the types of applications where you can see them or touch them (they are used in computer chips and some other applications). If you used a paper clip or a staple today, you probably used a steel alloy. If you used a spoon today it was probably stainless steel or, maybe, sterling silver. If you made toast today, you used heating elements made of another steel alloy. If you opened a door today, you probably touched a steel or a brass door knob. If you road a nice bike today you probably used an aluminum alloy.

I hope this helps
