want to be respectful?

I asked this woman a question and she started talking about something else. So I said, that's not why I called I called to discuss this situation and she got a large attitude with me, she's like in her 70s. So I didn't say anything,, because usually when I do I'm called disrespectful.

How do you handle this problem?

Well, I would have handled the situation just like you did. Just try to be respectful. It takes a strong person to bite their tongue.

In situations like this I would always say "with respect" then go on to state my case or ask my question.

Sometimes people around that age have dementia or Alzheimer's and they can't really help the way they respond to people, so you did the right thing and remained respectful.
