All of the Hawaiian islands are made of volcanos. Each island consists of one or more volcanos that gradually erupted from the ocean floor.

Although Hawaii is entirely volcanic it does not have the "most volcanoes". There are more volcanoes in Alaska, Washington and Oregon than there are in Hawaii.

The Pacific Plate is moving over a mantle plume or more commonly called a "hot spot". This create prolific volcanism that occurs in chains as the plate slowly moves over the rising magma.
