to complete the task. I cannot remove it. I tried WD40 with no luck. Any other ideas without having to pay anyone?

Is the wing nut brass? if it is you should be able to say through it with a hacksaw blade slowly so you don't crack the percelain

What basin? The tank? Pay someone. Cheaper in the long run. Saaanen is an idiot. The bolts are upside down not left hand threaded.

I just got done doing the same thing. I found out that all the screws in MY toilet were threaded opposite to the normal way. Right is loose, left is tight.

the bolt that the wingnut is on should have a slotted head on the inside of the tanks. use a flat screwdriver to hold the head while you turn the wingnut

Use vice grips..they screw down to the size you need..then lock with pressure to actually grip into the material..do not use a hammer..if you slip and hit the porcelin part it will shatter or crack..

Have you tried a hammer? Sometimes, you can "whack" the wing enough to get it loose.

Try a pair of pliers hon, slip-joint (Channel-Lock) if you have them.
