I have a 5th generation video ipod, 80GB. I wanted to sync an album to my ipod through my sister's labtop, but for some reason the CD could not be read. So I used the computer to transfer the songs to my ipod that way. I did everything the way I always do. I waited until the updates were complete and then clicked the eject button. Now comes the bad part. I plugged my ipod back into the laptop and I noticed it took awhile to connect. So I restarted my ipod like I always do anytime it freezes on me. But nothing happened so I gave up and decided to listen to my music on my ipod. I look through the artists and I get a blank screen! I start freaking out so I restart it again thinking that it was a mistake but I still get the blank screen. All my music and videos are gone, but the pictures I had on my ipod are still there. Does anyone know what happened to my ipod?

My ipod settings were manually adjusted for both computers.

What probably happened is that when you plugged it into your sisters laptop, her iTunes was set to sync automatically, so it deleted all your songs and was going to upload her songs but it probably didn't complete it. But that doesn't really matter, cuz now its too late, you will have to put all your songs on again. I suggest you sync manually from now on, so things like this don't happen. I do it manually, and I would die if it cleared mine, 1700 songs and 300 videos would take years to put back on...

you ought to guard dissimilar iPods on one iTunes account, there is not any venture. possibly you will possibly desire to sign in the nice and cozy iPod touch to the iTunes in the initiating. Then iTunes can know it and sync it. or you're using the older verions of oiTunes, replace it to the important present day edition could restoration the venture.
