Sure! I hope your study goes well...
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Religion: Erm...still in the process of deciding. You could say Buddhist.
Occupation: Student
Ethnicity: Caucasian
1) C
2) C
3) I remember my dreams more often as a kid, but they're more complex and visual now.
4) They're usually...neither. I haven't had a nightmare in years, though, so I guess you could say "positive".
5) No, but I wish I did.
6) If I'm lucid dreaming, I'll try and accomplish things, but otherwise, I just drift where the dream takes me.
7) No, yes, and pretty much every night.
8) I believe that the subconscious operates in a way that is less familiar to us than the unconscious, but that symbols aren't consistent between dreams. About that reality question - who says that "reality" isn't just another dreamscape? I prefer to leave those questions alone...
9) Often very symbolic (trippy landscapes, wanderings), but occasionally I'll have dreams that are just one long conversation with someone.
10) Yes, a number of times, but I don't consider this to be "predictive". It was just a coincidence, or details that the subconscious picked up and worked out during the night.
Great survey!

1.) On average, how many hours per night do you sleep?
A--1-3 B--4-6 C--7-9 D--10+
Usually B
2.) On average, how many days/nights per week do you remember your dreams?
A--0-1 B--2-3 C--4-5 D--6-7
Mostly C
3.) Do you remember your dreams more now or did you remember them more when you were younger?
I have always remembered my dreams very well. I can recall many throughout the night each morning. And have been like that for as long as I can remember.
4.) Are your dreams generally more positive or negative?
Positive. I rarely have nightmares or negative dreams. They are often just happenings, not really positive but still good, but I have some really good ones too.
5.) Do you keep a dream journal or diary?
No, I hate writing stuff down.
6.) Are you generally trying to accomplish something in your dreams or just having something happen to you?
I am always just living my life. Not anything more or less. They often are about relationships and people and things like that, not usually out to do something.
7.) Have you ever woken up naked, woken up somewhere else, or woken up in an odd position?
No, I sleep really still and soundly (and always in my bed or one that I know where it is!)
8.) Do you believe in dream interpretation or that dreams are just a continuation of reality?
I don't really buy into dream interperation...unless it is for a reoccurring dream. I can not imagine why someone would have the same dream for years on end, at random intervals, if there was not something to it. I believe it is the brain classifying things of the day and thoughts in the head, some of which we may not be consciously aware of being there (the thoughts). So I guess to some extent, I believe that a dream might need to be interpreted. But the ones that are just 'normal occurrences', I think are just that.
9.) Are your dreams more literal or symbolic?
They are literal.
10.) Have you ever dreamt about an event before it happened?
Yes, I have. But it was in the sense that I knew something was coming up and I would dream several different dreams about it because it was on my mind...so one of them had to be what was going to happen!

3) much more often when I was younger
4) usually positive, but negative if I'm stressed
5) no

7) nope
8) both. dreams occur during memory consolidation (a continuation of reality), but the often-bizarre associations the brain forms between dream objects are up for interpretation.
9) pretty equal, maybe a slight edge to symbolism
10) No. Interestingly I have a false memory of a dream becoming reality, but I also have the real memory of the event NOT happening. Friends have confirmed that the event did not really happen. But false memories are a topic for their own survey.
