I had my very 1st ultrasound in my 1st trimester. She said, April 11th and then gave me my weeks and days of how far along I am. What was April 11th is that the day the baby started growing and implanted later? I know that is the gestational age of the baby. Im really confused b/c I had my period on April 15th but it wasnt a period it was spotting for a day then nothing then spotting. The dr says since we are 4 days off he's keeping my due date. I think I got prego right when my period was about to start and my body noticed and stopped my period or that was implatation. My doc says my conception is April 30th. Could he be wrong? How can his dates be off. I think I got prego before my period but wouldnt the ultrasound show it? I dont see they could give me a date of April 11th and all other dates are after that,

Let me explain it a bit more. I had sex the night of April 7 (morning of the 8th)

Felt like my period was coming like usuall (cramping, etc)

On the 15th had light bleeding or spotting and was gone by the next day. Then maybe somemore spotting the day after.

The doc is counting April 15th as my last period. But my periods are usually REALLY bad and 5 days. Could this be my body noticed I got pregnant as I was about to start my period? Or even implantation bleeding from the 7th?

For my ultrasound she said April 11th and said I was 12wk/6days, when I seen the doc again he said we are 4 days off and kept my due date of Jan 20. How could she have given me a date of April 11th of the size of the baby if my period was April 15th? This is what im not understanding. I explained to the doc about the "weird period" and thats when I think I got pregnant. but he says we are right on time w/the dates.

Could he be wrong and not understanding me?

you have the possibility of getting pregnant after sex. I think it is something like 3 days, you can look it up. Sperm does not die right away in you if it does not reach the egg.
I had my period like you described when I was pregnant with my son.
A baby grows at different rates at different times, so it is possible for the due date to change, because it is going by how much more developing the baby needs to do, not by how far along you are, or even when you conceived.
A due date is also more of a reference. Babies are hardly ever born on their due date.

Um, now that i am reading this, are your dates wrong? How are you in your first trimester if you conceived in April and it is now end of November? You only carry a baby for 9 months (some people 10).

When you leave out a interval they use the primary day out of your final interval to calculate roughly how some distance alongside you're . You do not truthfully conceive till round two weeks after the final interval so technically your now not pregnant for the primary two weeks ! you'll have ovulated overdue additionally .. Ultrasound dates are traditionally correct early within the being pregnant so they'll constantly have a LMP date and a Scan date to while you're due . If they arnt to so much aside then the dates will keep the identical ! They will acquire the dates when you've got an additional experiment in a while and you are going to uncover they'll all be distinct .. Alough it does not fairly subject to so much ultimately as its two weeks earlier than and a couple of weeks when you elegance as being complete time period 38-forty two . I had been given 30-three , 6-04, four-04, a million-04 .. (by means of my scans) My due date is 1st April as that fits with my interval additionally ! Congrats

I had something similar happen to me with this pregnancy. I usually have 5-7 day periods, but I only had a one day light bleeding and then found out that I was pregnant 8-9 weeks later. I thought that I must have gotten pregnant around the time of my period, but the ultrasound said that it was like 3-4 weeks later. My measurements have all agreed with the ultrasound. My dr. said that measurements are more accurate than LMP. He said that my ultrasound showed a cyst on my ovary that may have caused my light period the week before.

I'm not quite understanding your question. What is your due date? If your period was April 15th, then your due date is Sunday, January 20. I'm now 36 weeks pregnant, and my last period was March 11, which is like 3 weeks + off, so dont necessarily depend on ultrasound to give you all the answers. We don't know when we conceive and we dont know when they will pop out! Good Luck

The dates are primarily set based on the size of the fetus, so of course they can be off. Not every baby grows at the exact pace of another.

My doctor calculated it based on my last period. He said the size looked like it matched the date.
