A man in the market, the lady at the post office, the kid that wants a work application... it's like I have seen them all before, but can't place them. They don't act like they've ever seen me before!

I've just learned to say "it's good to see you again" to everyone. And then they always smile and say "it's good to see you too." Then they walk away wondering "where the heck did I meet her before?"

Well granny, when you've lived long enough, especially if you've lived in the same area, I am certain you will will start to see familiarity in people you meet all over the place.

Chances are your paths did cross and even if it was just standing in the same line up if you happened to take notice of them then, it can certainly spark some deja vu memory in you when you see them again. Sometimes it's that they remind you of others too. I've often seen people's doubles which is really wierd. I mean I know it's not them but the resemblence real or imagined is what makes that impression.

I mean when you think of the all the sports your kids have been in, my hubby coaches too, so year after year of parents and kids, and when you fundraise and work in schools, and shop in shops, go to concerts, parties, dances, weddings, funerals, etc. etc. etc....we've probably met MILLIONS of people in our lives..so the fact they look familiar is not odd at all.

Yes, I often do. I saw a lady in the store today that looked familiar, but she didn't seem to recognize me either. When we used to move often I'd see someone in the new place that reminded me of folks where I used to live. The thing was if I got to know them it was odd when they were so different from the person they reminded me of.

I get that when I get up in the morning, I look into the mirror and say to myself I've seen this guy somewhere before?

Everyone looks familiar except for the face in the mirror? And you wonder who that "mature" woman is - and where you put your face? I cant seem to find the darn thing anywhere. Probably left it at the beach or something - sold it at the last yard sale ? And now I have stranger in my mirror. It can be disconcerting when you first get up and sleep walk into the bathroom and scare yourself when you pass the mirror -

Not so much to me, but apparently I have a double in nearly every state of the country according to people who live in other states.

It does happen, and I just smile and say hi, and get chatting, if there is time. Eventually they will realize what a sweet person you are. So next time you see them, they will know who you are, and get a good conversation going. Maybe even have a coffee :)
