I think that's a valid question, at least in a way. On the east coast, if you watch the evening news (at 11pm), you go to bed at 11:30. In the Central zone, the same thing gets you to bed at 10:30. Same for Monday Night Football, etc. So, at least on TV terms, east-coasters truly do get an hour less sleep.
