The sun is made primarily of hydrogen and helium. However, it also has all of the known elements. The way this is known is looking at the sun with the spectrometer which shows all of the elements present.Which means the sun is also composed of elements from stars long since burned out and exploded. We know this because gold and several other heavy metals show on the spectrograph. And the only way These metals can be made is from the tremendous energy that is produced when a star explodes. Earth is also abundant with these elements which means we are simply recycling old stars along with the sun.

The vast majority of the sun is composed of hydrogen and helium, but there are other elements present in much smaller percentages. Oxygen, carbon, and sulfur come readily to mind. Here's an interesting fact for you (and it's also the reason why there is so much hydrogen and helium present within the sun); every single second, at its core the sun converts (by atomic fusion) 300 million tons(!) of hydrogen into helium.

The reaction that powers the Sun is the fusion of Hydrogen into Helium. These would be the predominant Elements found.

The primary elements are hydrogen and helium; however, the sun contains many elements and long gone ancient stars like the sun are belived to have contributed many of the heavier elements which went into the makeup of our own planet.

The sun is made of Hydrogen and the nuclear fusion convert this hydrogen into helium.

So the answer is Hydrogen and Helium
