I'm doing it now-I already have the paints-good enough answer, I'll do it. I was told b4 at an art store that even 2 of the different acrylic paints wouldn't blend well- I think they were B.S.-ing

As a Muralist; faux finisher; I often use latex paints; expeially for large areas; given the cost of TUBE acrylics. beyond that Latex=Acrylic in most decent formulations.

In fact House paint dilluted also creates GREAT water color images.

Should not be a problem.
Have used latex primer to "prime" canvasses & masonite panels for years.
Have also mixed semi gloss white ,latex wall paint w/ acrylic artists colors for thin "washes"
The primer I used was flat & completely painted over
The wash was thin ,but I used semi gloss so it would match the .rest of the colors when it dried.
Might get a little "creep" painting on semi gloss wall paint & there will be a slight difference in the "shine" of the two media.
Could always do the background w/ flat paint & then apply a thin latex varnish to even it out.
Best regards

Most good latex paints are acrylic anyway so why wouldn't they be suitable? Check out Benjamin Moore or Pratt & Lambert paints and tell the store you want acrylic latex paint.

Muralists i comprehend recommend acrylics...it too is versatile, as is Latex. It also gained't value you a small fortune (unlike Latex). Use a suitable waterbased varnish severe for protection.
