Dear Friend ,

In a persons life he/she plays many roles as a Father/Mother,son/daughter, husband/wife,brother/sister, friend,grandpa/grandma etc etc.
One transfers immediately from one role into other in moments and plays them. But are all doing justice to their play?I do not think and I think NO is the answer.
So One has to learn and earn mastery in playing these roles. There are no separate schools to teach you only this.
One has to read good books, understand them correctly and retain what is read and put that in practise.
One is ever , grateful to parents who are responsible for his physical frame and present position.Their debt can never be completely paid back.Do not neglect them, respect them and be affectionate with them and take their advice whenever you require.Let your children have the love and affection of those elders and let them have the satisfaction of seeing their kids in right direction.
Read good moral books.Teach them to your children.See that your kids are on right way and correct them if necessary.

Whatever faith you follow, follow it faithfully and not as a once -in-a week feature.Your behaviour, talking way, the content of talk , the way you conduct all will reflect in your children. So lead an exemplary life as told in scriptures of your faith.
Towards friends be faithful and never betray any one.Speak truth always ,absolute truth.
Do not waste TIME,MONEY in gossiping and other things as Time spent will never return. If by your habits you lose Health you suffer a lot.So maintain a diet routine as required by your body and occupation, and maintain a halthy body and a healthy mind.If character is lost ALL IS LOST.

Read good books, I repeat and follow them. The list is endless.

God bless you and all young people with His choicest blessings and I pray to Him to help them lead a HAPPY ,HEALTHY and MORAL life with all happiness.

Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see.
Always read between the lines.
Never take anything for granted.
A penny saved is a penny earned (investments!!!!!!!!)
Live for the moment but keep your eye on the future.
Those that do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it (I'd like to take credit but this was said by George Santayana)
Knowledge is power.
You may be unique but, remember, so is everyone else.
If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all.
If you are sick remember this rhyme "Starve a fever, feed a cold" it will save you some painful recovery time.
Be nice and tolerant with everyone you meet and never judge because until you walk a mile in there shoes...................
Be a true friend to everyone.

O.K. Here are the Universal truths which connect all of the human race:
1. We all want a better life for our children than we have had for ourselves.
2. When we bleed, we all bleed red.
3. When we cry, our tears are colorless.
4. When we cry out in pain and anguish, that cry is not rooted in any native language.
5. We all break bread in the act of eating it.
6. No matter how advanced the civilization or primitive the tribe, the wedding ceremony has religious significance.

Pay close attention to things around you and don't be so quick to judge senior citizens if they do or say something, or even if they want to talk about the old days. Believe it or not, we have some good stories to share an we have opinions as well, along with good advice, if anyone cares to listen to us.

My little contribution would be to tell you of a motto "Todays thoughts are previews of coming attractions" and so if you think and believe of all GOOD things in your life, they will surely come to you......

and you would be a wise person to take heed of all the great answers from the others on here...wish I had been able to reach out and ask this question when I was young and got the response from these lovely people

Oh...and when you have been to see alcholicdemon, you can also pop in to see me......lol...only kidding

There are so many things and I admire you for asking. Here's a few from me.
1) Nothing learned is ever wasted, get a good education and continue to seek knowledge all your life.
2) Treat others as you would want yourself and your loved ones to be treated.
3) Eat well & find an exercise you enjoy doing so you can stay fit.
4) Think before you speak, words do hurt.
5) Don't put off doing what you want to do, for tomorrow it may be to late.

It would matter how old the person was, but here goes,
be nice,
play fair,
expect the best but prepare for the worst,
some people lie, don't be one of them,
most people are good,
if you are going to be famous, be famous for something you are proud of,
don't embarrass your parents,
take care of your parents when they are old and hope your children are watching, learning,
work hard,
laugh a lot,
think positive,
don't yell,
get as much education as you can as young as you can.
Can you tell I'm a parent?

Edit: Wow, I starred ALL of the answers! Kudos to you all!! :)

I like Luvs answer and farmers... I would add to be true to yourself honor your values, keep some things sacred, and be loyal... always be honest and fair! Don't forget to take care of the inner you from time to time!

And... sock away the money somewhere safe... doing without a little now will make you secure in your future money wise! That would be a terrific feeling!

Always consider that consideration, courtesy and kindness goes a long way. Give back to your community while you're young, you'll need them later.

For the rest, I agree with everyone, education and save your money!

Great question, you get a star!
