My best friends are freshmen and I am an 8th grader. We're not doing a Secret Santa or anything, but I plan on getting the three of them goodie bags that are worth around $5-$10 each.
These little gifts can put a big smile on anyone's face!:
-BATH & BODY WORKS: I love the lotion! Irresistable Apple, Sparkling Peach, Sweet Pea, Black Raspberry Vanilla, Magnolia Blossom...the list goes on and on! It is a bit pricey if you're on a low budget, but you can get a nice 6-pack of lotions for about $20. Or, you can get 2 oz. bottles for $3.50 and make your own little lotion basket! They also sell pre-made baskets with fragrance-themed lotion, shower gel, etc. Or perhaps lip glosses or body spray? The possibilities are endless!
-GIFT CARDS: When I did a Secret Santa with my church, they did not allow gift cards because it wasn't original and it didn't have much thoughtfulness in it. But I find that gift cards are great! You could try Starbucks, Jamba Juice, your local mall, the movie theaters, Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, Forever 21, Pac Sun, Borders, or any other store!
-SWEETS: There's nothing wrong with a nice box of chocolates! If you have a See's Candies or any other quality candy shop, pick up a box of sweets. I love going to See's because they always give you a sample when you go in. I think it's to make you feel the need to buy something, because you'd feel bad to leave when they gave you chocolate! Anyway, you could get truffles, candy canes, peanut brittle...you decide!
-BOOKS & MAGAZINES: Does your friend love reading, enjoy a certain series, or go crazy over the pages of Seventeen? Stop by your local bookstore and pick out some hot bestsellers, like Twilight (Meyer) and Gossip Girl (von Ziegesar). A stack of magazines would be great, too! Seventeen, Cosmo Girl, and Teen Vogue are just some examples.
-PLUSH DOLLS: You can find stuffed animals at Mervyn's, Target, or any other place that sells practically anything! Specialty stores, like Sanrio Smiles, also carry a wide variety of cute dolls.
These are just a few examples. Good luck! :D
