Water started coming up from my septic so i dug it up, and opened it. To find big white hard chunks. The chunks seem to be clogging the septic. I have no idea what the chunks would be. My laundry runs on a seprate line so I dont believe it is laundry soap. I also use liquid washing detergent for my dish washer so it couldnt be that. Any one have any suggestions?

I have the same.... It's NOT grease OR tampons or hair dye. Our house was previously owned by a 'care' company (not a lot of caring went on with the 'inmates' or the house) and all our problems with our tank stem from that. Tank guys said it's a deposit from washing powders packing agents. (We have used liquids for years.)We now have 3 years of this horrible stuff to eradicate. It'd be a really big expensive job if done professionally as it needs to be emptied and totally force flushed before reinstalling/starting. We,on the other hand, are biding our time and scooping/unclogging as we go. It will take time as it takes a while to 'let go' of surfaces like pipes and the bottom of the tank. Hubby is very hands on and great at DIY. Please don't do this if you don't know what you're doing. Get a pro.

I agree with the above answer. It's grease. I would try using Super Clean. It's in a big purple bottle.

If tampons are flushed down the toilet, that is the problem. The microbes in the septic tank won't digest them. If tampons ARE flushed, this practice needs to stop immediately.

GREASE IS A SEPTICS WORST ENEMY.

LET ALL DRAINS DRY FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS. THEN FLOOD EVERY SINK ESPECIALLY THE KITCHEN WITH A DEGREASER.
"PURPLE" IS BRAND NAME FOR A GOOD DEGREASER, USUALLY SOLD IN AUTO PARTS STORES. REPEAT PERIODICALLY.

Maybe tampons or grease. Please don't tell me you pour your grease down the drain.
