They neighbors that I had when I was growing up are my neighbors now again, as I moved back home. Not all of them are here now as some of them has passed on. Yes they all did leave an impression on me, even the ones that have passed on.

I could never forget. We lived in a neighborhood surrounded by teachers and some principals. We had to be on our best behavior at home and everywhere. My chemistry teacher lived three houses from me. My next door neighbor was the head of the business department in high school. My neighbor on the other side was a physician. My sister and her husband both retired from the school system and still saw most of our neighbors at one function or another.
It was a great neighborhood and it still looks pretty much the same as it did many years ago.

We lived out in the country and had a small housing addition, so we knew everyone on the road. I still think of the fun playing baseball, hide and go seek, simon says, with the adults sitting around talking with each other, cause it was a way to socialise, and not spend any money, and it was good for all the kids. Some stand out more than others, but still remember most of them, some are long gone now.

Yep. Since I grew up during a time when moms stayed home, I had lots of "moms." Most neighbors were friends and they would have block parties, not just during the day with the kids, but at night just for them. Sadly, now my "moms" are dying. My mom died almost 11 years ago this New Year's Eve, and 2 others have died within that time.

Indeed I do remember...a grand bunch of oddball and interesting people...to include the basement-dwelling ex-military uncle who slept during the day and had nightmares with scary screaming fits, the cat-lady, the Austrian grandma who made strudel every Christmas [using her diningroom table to spread an acre of pastry on!] and Big Bill who hoarded food [exotic canned fruits, imported sardines, etc.] but gave most of it away to the wanderers who always found him a soft touch. These folks were on our block...and one street over was the Opera Singer who vocalized every morning so loudly that you could hear her thru every window.

Yess, I remember all the kids I grew up with, all of them. I remember all the kids I went to elementary school with grades 1-8, in fact, I still communicate with some of them. I remember my neighbors, and the people I hung out with when I first moved to the S.F. Bay Area. I'm hoping my memory will continue to be crystal clear!

Yes, I remember all the neighbors from when we were growing up. I still see some of them when I go home now. We all knew each other and everyone helped each other out. They were like extended family to us.

Hello,
Yes they sure did.
We had the old man on the corner where we grew up. He had this really cool pick up and all us kids just loved it. The old man did not appreciate us always putting our hand prints on it and he was always afraid of us hurting it.
I can understand now why he was so afraid, back then none of us did though.

We had another neighbor who had swans. They were always yelling at us to get away and I was just there to watch them.

I remember when i was was about 7, there lived this lil old lady next door. Whenever i walked past her house, she would always give me chocolate, they were the best! Her name was Greta. She was so kind to me, she taught me how to garden and how to keep roses to last longer and many other practical things. But sadly, i moved to california [ we were living in New Jersey] she'll always be in my memories. She was like the grandmother i never had, I don't think i'll ever forget her. i sure hope she's doing fine. XD
