Why is my laptop running unusually slow (less than 50% normal)for no OBVIOUS reason?

I have DSL. Currently running wireless. No recent changes, except leaving PC on for several days at a time now. Before I shut down after every session.

You might have a virus or spyware. You also need to clean out temporary files and defrag your hard drive at least once a month. Download Ccleaner(free) and Auslogics defrag--its also free and faster than Windows defrag. AVG has a free spyware program--use that too.
