I want to be yankees GM, and i would erase from past i would erase letting players like brosius, and bernie, and other legend leave us early, because they were the dyansty, and i would also currently NOT TRADE FOR SANTANA!!!

I am not talking about my favorite team in genral, but now if I were the genral manger of the Chicago Cubs, the first thing that I would do is designate for assignment, and the 2 players will be Kerry Wood and Mark Prior. I am not crazy at of these 2 players, they both get injured once to often. In fact I doubt either of these 2 cry babies has played a full season without spenting time on the DL. And I don't think the Chicago Cubs had any problems like this before Kerry Wood's arrival on the Chicago Cubs in 1998. As far as other moves if I were the GM of the Chicago Cubs, I have no idea. If were the gernal manger of the Chicago Cubs, I wouldn't even re-sign them to a new contract. I would do whatever in my power is to get rid of them. That is why these 2 players are lucky that I am not not the GM of the team. Becuase if I were, these 2 players will not be in unfirom at all for the team.

If I was Mark Shapiro, GM for the Cleveland Indians, I would not be looking to pull the trigger on any major trade because my focus would be on trying to sign CC Sabathia. I would also be looking to have an every day guy in left field and if the asking price was not too ridiculous, I would bring back Kenny Lofton, a fan favorite. Outside of that, I am not too sure of what else I would do. Basically, I would not be trying to reinvent the wheel because I almost got there in 2007 but my top guns fell apart and what could I do about that in the offseason? No trade is going to assist in that department so I basically field the same team but patch a few holes like left field but only if the price is not ridiculous. I would not sell the farm because my predecessor John Hart had done that before me, leaving me to replenish the minors by trading away big name vets, causing fans to hurl expletives at me for years until the team I molded finally came around and made me look like a genius. Nope - I definitely do not sell off my minor league guys that I treasure.

I sign Aaron Rowand to a 3 year deal and sure up the outfield and batting order. I hire a chiropractor and any other "actor" that my players feel they need to be 100%. I raise Milt Thompson's salary as the hitting coach to keep him here. I deal Pat Burrell for a good third baseman or bring one up from the minors. That's how I help the Phils make the WS.

if i were cubs gm first i would trade an arm and a leg for santana. then i would take prior, dempster, e. patterson , and another prospect & cash for tejada.

that would be cool to be a manager for the chargers i would make them feel like they can talk to you and feel like they dont have to hide staff from you just make them feel conferable
