I'm contemplating of renewing my license and doing real estate sales again because i've only made a few sales in the last 4 years. I can count them with my one hand. I realized that my biggest challenge was reaching out to people that have money! I know that having money doesn't always show on the outside, but I do know some people who are financially secure but I'm just cottonpickin' intimidated by them. I usually relate to middle class folks and have no problem approaching them.
How can I tackle this?

Think about it like this: those people with money are your friends. They are putting food on your table. And don't worry about the way they act. As long as you know your stuff, you should be able to make the sale. They aren't going to worry about if you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth, because if you were, you obviously wouldn't be selling real estate. What they really want to know is the information that can best help them make an informed decision. Your job is to give them that information.

If you can do it, then you will make the sale.

That's the beauty of the USA, your class doesn't matter so much as your aptitude and talent.

In my 20+ years of sales experience, I've found that most wealthy people are not that much different than you or I.
The only change I would make when dealing with these type people is to be "more to the point" and less chatty. They are usually very busy and time to them IS money. So just relax. take a deep breathe, and get to the point.
If middle class people like you, the rich will also.

Build up your self confidence... it's a spiritual problem. This may sound like an unusual response, but this is something that will work... Do Yoga to connect to the powerful inner self. That will make you strong and fearless.

Get personal instruction or if that is not possible go to the Leap Over Web Clutter section of this website for the Yoga links.

Hello,
I would approach people who are selling their own homes.. Offer to help out for a small fee. Hold an open house. Get experience. You should really learn how to work the FHA system. True 100% financing and better than sub-prime. Howard Schoor

Why not sell for a company that has its office in a middle class area. No one says that you have to only show upper price homes. There are a lot of middle class buyers who would be thrilled to work with you.

The best incentive to getting over your fears as a salemen is money. I was nervous as hell when I started selling, until I started getting big commission checks, now I do what ever it takes to make the sale, and my only goal is to slaughter them like pigs. :)
