this was the math question. can someone help me understand how I need to work this and others easily?

You just have to gradually "break it into pieces" until you've got it reduced to prime numbers. Like so ...

18*100

(2*9) * (10*10)

(2*3*3) * (2*5*2*5)

Then count up how many of each prime you have, and you know what exponents to put into the prime factorization. 2 is in there three times, 3 twice, and 5 twice, so the prime factorization is:

2^3 * 3^2 * 5^2

They get easier as you do more of them. Good luck and hope that helps!
