I cant use my building tool!!! I scratched the original CD so I couldnt use it anymore so I started using this patch everyoe suggested. However, I think it blocked my building tool. Help!?!?! Thanks you so much. P.S. Please don't tell me to buy another game. I am not wasting so money for a SECOND one.

Try re-starting the game. If that doesn't work I don't know what to tell you..:(

Depending on badly your disk was scratched, you can fix it. If it's a light scratch, try rubbing creamy peanut butter on the scratch, then gently wipe it off. You can also buy a disk cleaner that will buff out any scratches in the disk, as long as they aren't real deep. Some video stores will also do this for you for a small fee.
As for your problem, I'm not sure what's going on. If you downloaded the no cd patch, which is not affiliated with EA Games, they are not repsonsible for anything that happens to the game. Your best bet would be to reinstall. But, have you tried to uninstall that program? If you uninstall it, then test the game out, and the game works fine, it was probably the program.
Another option would be to purchase an expansion pack. You won't need to worry about using the base game disk, as with the expansion packs, you'll use the new disk.
And yet another option you have, is sending EA Games ($13) to pay for a replacement CD. It's considerably cheaper than going to the store and shelling out another $50 for the game. Good luck!
