It's a long scene, and a lot happens in it, but if you read it attentively, you'll have no trouble answering the question. How do Prospero and Miranda talk to each other? Do you think they love or hate each other? What kind of power does Prospero exercise over his daughter? Does she accept his authority or rebel against it? Is there anything he's trying to protect her from? Is there any way in which he's trying to control her life? Is the way he talks to her different from the way he talks to Ariel and Caliban?

What about Ferdinand? How do he and Miranda react when they first see each other? What does Prospero seem to think of Ferdinand? Is the way he talks to Ferdinand the same as the way he talks to Miranda? Is it the same as the way he talks to Ariel? Is it the same as the way he talks to Caliban?

Take the time to read the scene, and the answers to many of these questions will become obvious to you.
