I bough a IDE to USB adapter for my EIDE hard drive that came out of my broken laptop, when i plug the IDE to USb into my desktop it recognizes that i plugged in a USB but it does not shop up in my computer and it does not sound like the drive is spinning, any help... THanks in advance

USB only has +5V power. HDD requires +5V and +12V (for internal motor). Better just put that HDD in an external drive case.

have you tried plugging in another harddrive.. it could be the cable (especially from hong kong, singapore, etc..)

if it does work on another drive...

your original drive is going to computer heaven...
