Can I stomp my feet instead?
My hands are on my keyboard, mouse, fork (eating lunch), answering phone and doing some paperwork at the same time. But you can probably guess they're mostly on the keyboard as I so swiftly type awayyyy////

I remember seeing a play years ago about old people trying to cope with retirement and old age. One scene had them all being led by a jolly young woman in the singing of 'I'm H A P P Y, I'm H A P P Y, I know I am, I'm sure I am, I'm H A P P Y!'. But then an elderly woman said ' But I am not HAPPY, in fact I am very UNhappy'. I work with elderly people in homes and hospitals, and they are not generally that happy. They feel ill, neglected, abandoned, worthless. Most of them have worked harder all their lives than we can really imagine, and now they feel 'It's come to this'. They get postcards from their families who are off on yet another holiday, but they don't get visits. What people like me do is try to be their family, but then I have my own life too.
I think old people are treated pretty badly by society. But then I think a lot of young people are, as well.
PS: I am male, mid 50s, married, children, etc but I remember the day when I realised that I had become 'invisible' to society - grey hair, dull clothes, the lot.

it depends on if you want people to know if you're happy or not. if you want people to think you're happy even when you aren't, you could clap your hands.
