Seriously, look at the data sheet for the thumb drive. It will tell you the storage temperature limits. Odds are, the drive won't get hot enough unless you are running a dangerously high fever. In which case who gives a dang about a lousy thumb drive? Watch your health instead.
Now if you were hiding the drive, not in a pocket but in a body cavity, THAT might harm the drive.

So no you will not damage it via body heat.

not realy i keep mine in my pocket everyday without a cap for the usb and it still works as fast as any thumb drive it even went through a washer and drier
