Why can't a phone just be a phone?

Actually, I like texting because my husband can't talk on the phone while he is at work but can text message. We work opposite shifts and don't get to see each other through the week so we stay connected with texting! So I love it :)

Because if you don't and you don't tell EVERYBODY that you give your number to, they will still text you and run your bill up because it costs money to receive them if you aren't on a plan (or go over).
Plus, you can get a message to somebody without calling them. And you can do it without being noticed, like class. Plus, when you are in a place that is is rude to use your cell, like the doctors waiting room, or a restaurant, it's better than being "that person."

Its a way of talking without people hearing whats going on... for me when im at work i just text. TeXting is AWsOme

the majority of the population has it.
and it's so much easier than calling someone up.
and it's fun.
and if you get unlimited then it's cheap too!
