Yes, too many times!

Have you ever heard of "Jury duty"?

Yes, a time or two :-)

Why? Any specific question?

They vary from the fancy ornate rooms, especially in older big city courthouses, to rooms that just look like a corporate boardroom.

The CA Supreme court goes on a "road trip" every year, and hears real cases in schools all over the State so the kids can see how a court functions. In those cases the "courtroom" is a gym or assembly hall.

I've even been in a "courtroom" that was a meeting room in a Holiday Inn, when it was convenient to all the parties to hold a hearing there.

Yes, I practiced law for a number of years but nothing that would get me into a courtroom (basically, transactional work). Until recently, lawyers were exempt from being jurors in New York State. That changed a number of years ago. Last year I actually got picked to be on a jury for a criminal case. I was so excited. The first day, the judge had the jurors wait in a small room on the side of the courtroom. At about noon, he called us into an empty courtroom, thanked us for our service and told us the defendant had pleaded to a lesser crime and we were free to go home. I was so disappointed. So, I got to see a courtroom but not a trial. Maybe next time.

Yes, After I had a car accident. A guy crashed into the back of my car. It was a very intimidating experience and I wasn't even the defendant!

Yes... worked in law enforcement. It really isn't as dramatic as they show on TV, though I suppose the larger Federal courtrooms are.

Many of them. It was kind of cool at first, but they get pretty boring (And uncomfortable) after a while.
