I would, without telling them or anyone else, see a good lawyer. Then , in dealing with husband and sister, say very little. Divorce the husband. Don't even listen to anything to the contrary. After the lawyer advises you, change where you live, take care of all pertinent finances. Leave no bad words behind you. Nevermind about "blood is thicker than water". Don't let yourself be sweet-talked. You may smile, you may be polite, you may even be kind but these people are OUT OF your life.Do a lot of thinking. You don't ever want to waste time on people like this in your life again.

I would have to get away from both of them. What a horrible situation. I would go away on a vacation by myself so I could put myself back together. I believe in forgiveness, so maybe after a long, long time I could do that. It would be super tough if I already had kids with my husband, because all the kids would be related. It seems wrong to keep them away. Ah, what a heartbreaking, sticky spot to be in. I hope this isn't your case.

wow. That's tough. But I would probably be on non-speaking terms with my sister for the LONGEST time, maybe even never. If she doesn't take the initiative to try to work things out with me. As for the husband, I would divorce him in a heartbeat and kick him in the balls real hard to cause him extreme pain.

Probably freak out, calm myself down so I wouldn't do anything that would land myself in jail, then put my hubby's stuff on the doorstep, change the locks, and don't answer any calls or go to any family functions where my sister was.

I would cry first to get it out of my system. And after I cooled down talk openly with the both of them. Be careful. Anger is a treacherous thing to carry around with you and can be more destructive than the situation itself. Divorce him if the relationship cannot be salvaged (which it looks like, it probably can't).

OK, I was the other way round, my ex wife went with my brother. You need to get them out of your life, ASAP. You will only go through pain and hurt trying to save your marriage. Be brave, be strong, gather all your friends, get counselling, and get rid of him. I did in the end, and I have 3 kids and 4 houses just to make things more complicated.
There's no need to get all shouty and angry about this either, try to stay calm with your husband, but stay firm. You need to get him to sign the divorce papers stating he had an affair. If only it could just be a clean swift break from the relationship, but like it or not, you are gonna have to have some contact with him to divorce him.
It will not work if you try to make another go of your marriage.
IT WILL NOT WORK IF YOU TRY TO MAKE ANOTHER GO OF YOUR MARRIAGE. Save yourself the pain and break free.

I'd be extremely pissed off to say the least. I would have lost my sister and my husband. My best friend...and sadly it would keep me from having a close relationship with my niece or nephew.

Move out of Arkansas.
Edit: That was a joke. You're probably serious. Umm...depends on the attitude of your sister and your husband. If they're in love, and/or not sorry, move on. If you sister is sorry and your husband wants forgiveness....you have a tough road ahead. Forgive them both and move on.
